Labour Movement in Turkey (15 August - 15 September)

• In Çerkezköy, picketing Adkotürk workers started their strike on August 23. The strike keeps on despite all obstacles.
• Workers did not remain silent against strike-breaking moves of Bel Karper management.
• The documentary Strike Diary produced by Dayanışma TV (Solidarity TV) has had its premiere. The documentary tells the struggle of Adkotürk and Bel Karper strikers. At the end of the premiere, UID-DER Music Band performed and sang struggle songs.
• 1500 miners working in İmbat Mining in Soma took strike action to protest the oppression and injustice they face.
• Collective bargaining agreement covering 5.5 million public workers and retirees was signed. Public workers protest low raises and react to this injustice
• At Futura Form in Gebze workers stopped work as their wages had not been paid.
• HEBO Construction workers in Kocaeli, Çayırova joined Öz Çelik-İş union. 8 workers were fired and they started picketing.
• At Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Xiaomi, the struggle of workers to unionize continues. Workers who were laid off on account of unionization are in resistance.

In many cities of Turkey workers are fighting for their rights. They refuse to surrender in face of the attacks of capital and will not!
