Workers from Various Sectors Fight for Their Rights!

Workers from many sectors protest the high cost of living and melting wages. They demand additional raise. Workers chant: “decent working conditions”, “stop the tax robbery!”
- On September 16, Harb-İş Union, affiliated to Türk-İş, took action in Kartal Square against melting of wages and soaring inflation.
- On September 20, DİSK held a protest in front of the Istanbul Tax Office with the demand for “Justice in Income, Justice in Taxation”.
- Municipality workers from Genel-İş Union and thousands of workers from the Mercedes factory in Istanbul took actions to demand additional raises.
- Assa Abloy workers from DISK Dev Yapı-İş are fighting for their right to collective bargaining.
- Atiskan Plaster workers in Eskişehir, Ece Ceramic workers in Zonguldak and Technomix workers in Bursa are all on strike.
- On October 5, Antalya Kumluca Municipality workers from DISK Genel-İş union went on strike after the employer refused to sign the collective agreement. The workers protest dismissals and the hostility of the municipal administration towards the union.
- On 5 October World Teachers’ Day, teachers from the Private Sector Teachers’ Union took action against low wages and long working hours in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Samsun and Antalya. Teachers demand the same rights as public school teachers.
- Asen Metal workers from Birleşik Metal-İş are fighting for their right to unionise. Pulver Chemical workers from Petrol-İş union, Baggi workers from DISK Tekstil, Lila Paper workers from Selüloz-İş union… They are all in resistance.
- In Manisa, Telateks workers from DISK Tekstil managed to get additional raise from the boss.
- Workers from Philip Morris (Euroserve) factory, Konya Biyogaz workers, Özsüt workers in İzmir, Sütaş workers in Bursa, Öz-İş Makine workers in Bolu.... Together with their unions, they are all fighting against dismissals.
