Workers Raise Their Voices Against Spiralling Poverty!

- At the state-owned mine in Amasra, 42 miners were killed by mine blast. Democratic mass organizations and trade unions protested the massacre in the squares, workplaces and picket lines.
- On 2 November, teachers stopped working to demand the cancellation of Teaching Profession Law, the abolition of the Career Ladder Exam and better working conditions.
- DISK delegation visited Marlboro and BETONSTAR workers who had been dismissed for exercising their union rights.
- Maslak Mehmetçik Foundation OPET workers from Petrol-İş union made a press statement against the imposition of overtime, mobbing and low wages.
- Assa Abloy workers organized under the DISK/Dev Yapı-İş union. Workers stopped working to protest the employer who refused to sign the collective agreement.
- Workers stand up against the bosses who deny their right to unionize. Workers from Öz-İş Makine, Barutçu Textile, Yasin Çakır Flour factory, Pulver Chemical, Baggi and Sütaş... They all keep fighting.
- Ece Ceramic workers from Petrol-İş union in Zonguldak, Atışkan Plaster workers from Kristal-İş union in Eskişehir, Technomix workers from Türk Metal union in Bursa continue their strikes.
- On 3 November in Ankara Ulus Square, DISK/Genel-İş union held a mass press statement to demand permanent employment for municipal workers.
- 25 workers from Öz İplik-İş union were dismissed at Nersoy Textile. Workers made a press statement in front of Nersoy Textile’s headquarters in Istanbul.
- On the 300th day of their resistance, Lila Paper workers achieved victory. They gained the majority in the workplace.
- Avcılar Municipality workers from Belediye-İş union, who had went on strike on 18 October, managed to have their demands met.
