Stand Together Against the Attacks of Capital and the Government!

After the local elections, President Erdoğan and the Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek announced that they will continue with the economic programme they have been implementing. So, what is in this programme that they insist on?

• Keeping wages low to maintain and increase profits of the bosses
• Raising interest rates, making inflation soar, high cost of living, increasing taxes in order to make the working people pay the burden of economic destruction
• Providing lavish cheap credits to capital, but removing even the possibility for the working people of paying the credit card depts in instalments
• Syphoning off of the working-class funds made from wages to feed the bosses
• Making more cuts to pensions, severance pay, social benefits
• Making more cuts to public services such as health care and education … and much more…

This is the economic programme they say they “have to continue persistently to get out of difficulties.” So, they don’t only want to tighten our belts but they also want to squeeze our throats. And, with all means at their disposal, they repress workers who object and take the road of struggle.

Workers who choose to take the road of struggle to defend their rights face dismissal. When they stand up against injustice, they face persecution from the police and gendarmerie, face violence, arrests, home detention. Moreover, they are confronted by religious officials, district governors, provincial governors, courts...

That’s why we have to get united, unite our forces, stand together against the attacks of capital and the government.

Stand together against high cost of living, low wages, robbery in the form of taxes, cutting the severance pay, union busting, making the working people pay the burden of the economic destruction!
